Purple Sock
We were up at 8:30 this morning, after settling in bed at 1 a.m. Everything looks good though Hermione needed to have her bandage change = more money. Ah well... I did get to turn in the cone thing for credit. Yippeeee!!!!!! Next appointment is in a week. Hopefully that will be it for now.

Pink sock and a visit
Hermione has started to sort of chew at the top of her pink sock. I just pray we last until Monday at 8:30. She is taking her meds, running and jumping. Tomorrow at 2 we are at the T.O. Library for kids to read with the pooches. We got our white shirts with the navy blue paw prints on them. Yeah!

Pink sock and a bath
The pink sock, as it has been dubbed by a student of mine, has stayed on. Hermione is back to normal. No issues. She was freaked out that I was up at 430 this morning monitoring her. But we made it thru this day.
Donya decided to she needed to bathe in my clean jeans. Fun stuff!

What I thought would be a simple visit...
ended up being a financial nightmare (OK, when doesn't it at the vet.) Maybe it isn't all that bad, but for one really really really brief moment, I thought I should have taught summer school.
The Doctor looked at Hermione's ears found she had a fox tail in each ear. She not only had that ouchy paw, but discovered she has a heart murmur. (At present, I have passed on the murmur part.)
As the visit progressed, the vet tech took her back to get her fecal as well as her ears done. The vet came out and said Hermione had enough of her and would not let her take out the other fox tail. They had to sedate her. I was a mess to I went to a friend's home to help her with computer stuff.
After 30 to 40 minutes, I got a call telling me that Hermione was really out and they needed to give her something to wake up. I asked if I could just carry her out and watch her at home wake up. Of course that was a no go. I left my friend's and headed home.
I arrived, had a small heart attack as well as a slight stoke, as I paid the bill. I got her meds. Hermione came out looking like she celebrated not only St Patty's Day but Cinco De Mayo and New Year's all at once. She was also wearing a small pink wrap around her left paw and the vet tech gave us a cone thing for her head. She wobbled here and there. I had to pick her up and put her in the truck.
I cried. I felt so bad she was in this situation. She looked at me groggily in the truck. She insisted that she walk to the house. I put her on the sofa. She wobbled here and there finally settling down. She is fading in and out. I am close by, of course I am worried. She is still out of it so the cone isn't going on.

OUCH!
Hermione managed to do this at the dog park yesterday! We see the vet tomorrow. I don't think it is all that bad, but she does need her fecal for volunteer work.

The last couple of days...
have been difficult. I miss my boy, Nac. I cried myself to sleep last night. I kept telling Nac, I was so sorry that his life ended so soon. Yet, he made me realize that I there are others here to love.
As I cried last night, Fog, Donya and Nik cuddled with me as if they understood the pain I was going thru. Hermione did her part too. Cookie made a brief visit and left.
I am so sorry Nac, and I wish you were here with us now. We love and miss you!!!!!!!!!

Dog Park
After Hermione's volunteer session, we meet a couple friends (Charlotte, Allie, and Maggie) at the dog park. I believe we all had fun. I know Hermione did. She is currently passed out.
One of the high points was she found a friend a little boxer puppy. He was totally fascinated with her. I would throw the ball, Hermione would run and the pup would follow after her. If you have ever met Hermione, you know she love to chase them balls. That poor pup got tired quick.
